Don't miss the wild boar |
Via del Trebbio, 1r Florence 50123 Italy +39 55 21 3768 |
This is one of the oldest restaurants of its kind in the city, with a few centuries of history behind it. In 1880 Orazio Lapi was named as the head of the Antinori and gave his name to this place. Since then dukes, princes and many famous people have passed through these doors. Some of the best and most authentic Tuscan cuisine is served here. One of the starters is ribollita made with aromas of the orchard and wild boar pappardelle. The wild boar maremmana is also not to be missed, as is the grilled goat. They also serve excellent Tuscan and regional wines. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This restaurant's attractive menu and unusual décor of frescoes and bare brick walls are all part of its popular appeal. Food is so wonderfully presented that it seems almost a shame to touch it, but worse still would be not to taste it at all. If in doubt what to go for, just try a bit of everything! Just a couple of steps away from the main station, this restaurant cooks good fish at good prices, and the service is excellent. The freshness of the fish is guaranteed here because the dishes change according to market availability. Among the antipasti are oysters, Venus clams, sardines and a marinated salmon carpaccio. After years of closure, this once legendary cinema is enjoying something of a Renaissance as an enormous bar, restaurant and entertainment complex. They have a huge private car park, accessible from Via della Fonderia (situated between Via dell'Anconella and Via Felice Cavallotti). Review © 2007, Wcities |
