See Florida's "front" doors |
500 East Las Olas Boulevard Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 United States +1 954 768 9920 http://www.carriebcruises.com/ |
A comfortable craft, this vessel is air-conditioned but has plenty of deck space for those who want to stroll around in the fresh air. A cruise aboard this sleek, elongated cruiser includes a tour around a part of town called Millionaire's Row, past massive yachts docked outside elaborate homes, and the region's busy port, jammed with huge cruise ships and Navy yachts. Food and beverages are offered from a full bar. Adults pay $14.95; children under 12 pay $8.95. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Watch the Baltimore Orioles |
5301 Northwest 12th Avenue Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 United States +1 954 776 1921 |
If you're an avid baseball fan in general, or if you admire the Baltimore Orioles in particular; stop by this stadium in March, when it plays host to the Baltimore Orioles' spring training camp and exhibition games. Ticket prices are low for these pre-season games, and if you're lucky, you might catch a baseball and get it autographed by your favorite athlete. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A south Florida institution |
Bahia Mar Yachting Center Route A1A Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 United States +1 954 462 5596 |
For more than 50 years, visitors have traveled on this stately riverboat. Tours sail past estates while an entertaining monologue by the captain points out the homes of the famous and the infamous. On three-hour day tours or four-hour dinner voyages you can sail to an island where you will dine amid tropical foliage. Evening cruises feature a dinner of barbecued ribs and shrimp, with a variety revue and sing-a-long cruising back. Review © 2007, Wcities |

You can see the city from cruises that depart from Las Olas Riverfront Marketplace, itself a waterside dining and shopping spot. These cruises chug by the city's most historic sites, mega-yachts and cruise ships, showy hotels, the city's International Swimming Hall of Fame and Marina. Tours are 90 minutes long, leaving every two hours on the half hour beginning at 10:30a. There is an evening cruise at 8:30p. It is wise to call ahead, however, as times may change seasonally. Departure is every two hours, call for seasonal changes. Review © 2007, Wcities |
