A comfortable craft, this vessel is air-conditioned but has plenty of deck space for those who want to stroll around in the fresh air. A cruise aboard this sleek, elongated cruiser includes a tour around a part of town called Millionaire's Row, past massive yachts docked outside elaborate homes, and the region's busy port, jammed with huge cruise ships and Navy yachts. Food and beverages are offered from a full bar. Adults pay $14.95; children under 12 pay $8.95. Review © 2007, Wcities |

For more than 50 years, visitors have traveled on this stately riverboat. Tours sail past estates while an entertaining monologue by the captain points out the homes of the famous and the infamous. On three-hour day tours or four-hour dinner voyages you can sail to an island where you will dine amid tropical foliage. Evening cruises feature a dinner of barbecued ribs and shrimp, with a variety revue and sing-a-long cruising back. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Climb through a water fortress, ride down slides and shoot water cannons in this kid-friendly alternative to the beach. This water playground features two pool areas (one for toddlers and one for kids 5 and up), each with water activities and its own fort. Two 350-foot water slides shoot riders down a hillside and a slow river carries water tube riders on a drifting course. Full-day visits are made easy with poolside lounge chairs, lockers and a grill and snack bar. Admission is $7 per person or $4 after 3p. Rates are scheduled to increase, so call to check. Children 1 and under are free. C.B. Smith Park entrance fee is $1 per person on weekends and holidays and free on weekdays. - Barbara Chaney Review © 2007, Wcities |
