Located on the grounds of one of Broward County's largest libraries, you can also spend some time browsing the bookshelves. An annual event that draws a large crowd, it is a nice way to spend a lovely April Florida day. Admission is free.

Cajun-Zydeco Crawfish Festival

Boasting the largest outdoor dance floor in Florida, this three-day event features three stages with musical performances and just about more crawfish to eat than is registered in the Guinnes Book of Records. There are also games and contests that include bingo, dances and crafts, as well as children's programs and crafters. Admission at the gate for adults and children age 13 and older: daily USD15; two-day pass USD25; three-day pass USD35. Children age 12 and under are free. This one-day festival draws thousands to the Downtown District, where store fronts have been dressed up for Christmas. Local bands play holiday favorites and carolers dressed in period costumes stroll along famed Las Olas Boulevard. Street cafes and upscale restaurants provide delectable food. The arrival of Santa at the end of the day kicks off the holiday season. Parking is available along side streets. Arrive by Water Taxi from the 9th Avenue or Riverside Hotel Docks or take the Royal Horse Drawn Carriages located at South East 8th Avenue and Las Olas. Admission is free.

The amazing flying skills of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds and Canadian Air Force Snowbirds are the major attraction of this two-day annual event. Fleet Week has joined the program with U.S. Navy ships and a Coast Guard Cutter open for civilian visits (children under 8 not allowed). A variety of concession booths with souvenirs, programs and food are available. Admission is free. Using the Park & Ride shuttle service from public garages (USD6 roundtrip), Tri-Rail Service, or bicycle lock-up stations are the best ways to get to the beach.
