This Arlington tradition is owned and operated by the former manager of the Texas Rangers baseball team. Sports fans can never get enough of the memorabilia, which covers the walls, tables and every other area you can imagine. Entrees include a catfish filet, the Tex-Mex Bobby Bajita fajita plate, the tortilla-rolled club Mex sandwich, the blackened chicken, the buffalo shrimp and the tender filet mignon. Brothers Curtis and Chris Wells are proud of their four-star restaurant, Classic Cafe. Executive chef Jennifer Brightman serves her signature beef dishes with crawfish-butter, stilton cheese and many other ingredients. Beef entrees include the 16-ounce bone-in rib eye, which comes coated with blue cheese and breadcrumbs, as well as the daily beef special. If you are not in the mood for beef, try one of the many classic chicken entrees, the Asian-flavored Soy-Glazed salmon or the savory swordfish special. Wednesday is ladies night, while Fridays feature a happy hour with free buffet from 6p-8p. The buffet consists mainly of bar fare; burgers, fries, sandwiches, chicken and barbecue are the mainstays. This wonderful Italian bistro, set in out of the way location on Highway 26, is a great find. The lighting is low and romantic, and the table settings are elegant white with pretty, clear glassware. Decorations at the La Bistro include Italian countryside-influenced pictures. All entrees include spaghetti, soup or salad. House specialties include the filet mignon Madeira with mushrooms and wine sauce, and veal in a brandy sauce with shallots and cream.
