When you're in Ft. Worth and you're hankering for a taste of the Bavarian countryside, fret not! The Bavarian Bakery & Cafe, located in Forest Hill, is an authenticity-soaked slice of Germanic joyousness. The lunch menu is a lengthy list of traditional Bavarian sandwiches with names like "Der Buergermeister" and "Munich Kindl", some of which are served on a croissant. At dinner, look forward to some of the heartiest schnitzel plates this side of the Rhine - lots of meat, lots of starch, lots of butter. Wash it all down with a stein of the finest German lager. At any time of day, you can stop by the takeout counter for any of the above, as well as cakes, pastry, breads and more. See website for complete menu.
