Live rock & pop acts |
Maybachstraße 24 Eschersheim Frankfurt, HES 60433 Germany +49 69 9521 8410 http://www.batschkapp.de |
Almost 20 years old, Batschkapp is a popular rock and pop concert venue which has outlasted many of its rivals. Other music styles such as heavy metal, indie, crossover and hip-hop bands also feature. Please make sure to leave penknives or anything of that sort at home; the security staff are serious about safety and have even been known to confiscate nail files. Fridays ('Idiot Ballroom') and Saturdays ('Bubblicious') are popular club nights with a mix of musical styles. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Two restaurants and one club in Frankfurt's hottest building |
Carl-Benz-Straße 21 Frankfurt, DE 60386 Germany +49 69 900 20 505 (Event Booking) http://www.cocoonclub.net/main... |
The CocoonClub, located on the ground floor of the triangular U.F.O building in Frankfurt's Ostend district, is one of the premier venues for electronic and house music in the city. Hipsters converge here every weekend to dance to spun or live music in a unique and modern setting. The space also boasts two trendy restaurants: Silk BedRestaurant and Micro ClubRestaurant. Silk serves Euro-Asian fusion cuisine to its guests in bed, as DJs spin eastern-influenced electronica. At Silk, all guests are served at once, space is limited and reservations are imperative. Micro serves guests at tables surrounded by a veil of silver silk thread; images are projected onto this ultra-hip screen in time to the music, making for an unforgettable dining experience. Executive chef Mario Lohninger's genre-bending plates are equally unique. CocoonClub is the place to come for hot beats, cool company and an atmosphere unlike any other. The space can also be rented out for private events. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Are you a creature of the night? A music fan? If so, then read on! The Dreikönigskeller is a wonderfully dark 'music cellar' that pumps out the sounds all week long. Ravers can groove until the early hours every night of the week, and amateur musicians can try out their own music at the wild jam sessions. Be sure to check the website for updated schedules of performances. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The shooting star of the club circuit, King Kamehameha's popularity rests upon its ability to provide the perfect combination of tip-top drinks, excellent food and great service in an upmarket club atmosphere. The decor is swish yet simple, the clientele well-dressed and cultivated. DJs play a mix of jazz, soul, house and Latino sounds, to which the lucky few can swing their hips and sway their champagne glasses. Or you can simply stand at the bar and enjoy watching! Night of the clubs |
Katharinenkirche Frankfurt, HES Germany +49 69 155 2000 http://www.nacht-der-clubs.de |
Once a year clubbers can hit Frankfurt's clubs without having to worry about nasty doormen and extortionate entrance fees. A ticket to the Nacht der Clubs (Night of the Clubs) entitles visitors to admission at about 30 of Frankfurts top nightclubs. Free shuttle buses run regularly between all the clubs, meaning that party-goers are free to leave their car at home and drink the bar dry. Some 30,000 visitors a year take advantage of this special offer, which is no surprise bearing in mind the variety of participating clubs, which range from techno palaces to jazz cellars, from opulent ballrooms to dingy heavy metal dives. Ticket-holders are entitled to reduced admission to the Musikmesse trade fair which takes place over the same weekend. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Clubland chameloen |
Kurt-Schumacher-Straße 45 City Frankfurt, HES 60313 Germany +49 69 2 0650 |
This establishment on Konstablerwache lives a chameleon-like existence. An ordinary café by day, Nachtleben transforms into a concert hall-cum-club at night, hosting gigs by newcomers (including heavy metal, rock, grunge and punk bands) as well as regular club nights. The whole place becomes a 'Sinister Zone' on Fridays with wave and gothic played by DJ Katharina; Saturdays feature techno, house and soul. The promoters, who also run Batschapp, are constantly coming up with new ideas, with regular theme nights and novelty acts. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This place has been around since 1971 and has seen off the coolest and hippest clubs over the years. Frankfurt's movers and shakers still head to this trendy and stylish venue. Check out the website or the programme guide for details of current concerts. On Thursdays and Saturdays there are retro discos under the banner 'Shake It Up - The Eighties Fun Disco' or 'Back to the Sixties and Seventies'. Glauburgstraße 80 Nordend Frankfurt, HES 60318 Germany +49 69 2562 7744 http://www.stalburg.de/ |
The Stalburg Theatre in Frankfurt's Nordend has the ambience of a ballroom and the cosiness of a 500-year-old apple wine cellar. The boss of the establishment, Michael Herl, is a well-known personality and attracts stars from all over the country. Exhibitions and readings are also organised. The theatre restaurant Zur Stalburg also serves up a great Roast Pork with Sauerkraut! Well worth a visit. Review © 2007, Wcities |
