Galway Hostel

Probably the cleanest, friendliest hostel in Galway
Eyre Square
Galway
Ireland
+353 91 56 6959
Located bang in the middle of Galway's city centre, this is a traditional stone building overlooking Eyre Square. The interior has replicated the old-world exterior with comfortable, church pew seating in the common room and pictures of old Galway on the walls. It's a small hostel but ideal for groups, singles and couples. It offers all the facilities one would expect, including guests' kitchen, common room and showers. Recommended by Let's Go, Rough Guide and La Guide du Routard, this is probably the cleanest hostel in Galway. Proprietor Flora Rice ensures that a stay here is a home from home.

Great Western House

Comfortable, affordable hostel
Frenchville Lane
Eyre Square
Galway
Ireland
+353 91 56 1150
Great Western House is the crème de la crème of economically priced accommodation in Galway. It is very well situated, just adjacent to the train and bus station. It offers all the amenities you would expect to find in more expensive hotels, plus a sauna and games room thrown in. There are no curfews as friendly staff staff the reception desk 24 hours a day. Great Western House is highly recommended by different travel guides such as Lonely Planet, La Guide du Routard and the Rough Guide. Booking early is highly recommended, as this is probably one of the most popular places to stay in Galway.

Cheery rooms, excellent transport facilities and just minutes away from the shopping and partying zone! Now what else could a backpacker ask for? Located in central Galway, Sleepzone is just three minutes away from Eyre Square. Clean dormitories and funky paintings with Scandinavian-style décor will appeal tremendously to your senses. Rates are seasonal and modest - EUR13 per person for a dormitory accommodating eight to ten persons, EUR15 for six persons, and EUR16 for four persons. ID is required for check-in.
