A stupendous terrace on the rocks by the Nervi paths |
Passeggiata Garibaldi, Nervi Genoa 16100 Italy +39 10 372 8113 |
An established bathing complex with a wonderful terrace on the rocks by the Nervi pathway. In the winter, clients can eat outside, under a bower where the tables are protected from the wind by glass panels. Thus you can enjoy the February sun while eating a pizza or spaghetti with seafood. In the summer it is a fantastic venue, with tables placed directly on the rocks, only a few metres from the sea, next to a small natural pool carved into the rocks. The scene is already worthy of admiration, but in addition the management organise jazz jamming sessions to make the evenings even more pleasurable. Review © 2007, Wcities |

DJ and live music over the sea |
Passeggiata Garibaldi 27r, Nervi Genoa 16100 Italy +39 10 372 6312 http://www.bonfim.it |
On the rocks of the Nervi promenade, this place has a view over the sea from the large windows and has a small garden. It is a shame that it is closed in the day, but at night it is still a charming place with the reef lit up by the promenade lights. Recently renovated, the atmosphere is reminiscent of a Latino country because of the colours and interesting layout of tables and stools. Musical evenings with DJ's take place here as well as small, live concerts. When the place is crowded, go out to the terrace or walk along the promenade for a more peaceful setting. Modern Art museum in the Nervi park |
Via Capolungo, 3 Genoa 16167 Italy +39 10 557 2057 http://www.comune.genova.it/tu... museicivici@comune.genova.it |
The gallery of Modern Art has been in this building since 1928. It is deep inside the marvellous Park di Nervi in a stately villa from the Serra family. This was built in the second half of the seventeenth century and has since been expanded with galleries and side annexes. The museum contains over four thousand works of art including paintings, sculptures, drawings and etchings. The original collection was made up of the collection of Prince Oddone of Savoy and the legacy of the Duchess of Galliera. It has grown thanks to several bequests and careful acquisitions. Ligurian artists from the nineteenth and twentieth century are particularly well represented. There are works from T. Luxoro, G. Monteverde, F. Messina, E. Baroni, A. Martini, A. D'Andrade, E. Rayper and P. D. Cambiaso. The sensitive treatment of the Ligurian countryside in the works of Rubaldo Merello deserves particular note. There are also masterpieces by R.Guttoso, M.Mafai, F.Casorati, R.Sirotti and P.Nomellini thanks to recent donations. Unfortunately the civic collection of modern art has not been open to visitors since 1989. The exhibition spaces need total renovation. Review © 2007, Wcities |
