A mix of neo-classical and Art Nouveau |
Piazza Brignole, 4 Genoa 16122 Italy +39 10 87 3316 http://www.hotelastoria-ge.com |
This hotel was christened the Astoria Belgrano at the turn of the century. It was built for the Marchesi Serra in 1860 in an amalgamation of several remote styles among which are the neo-classic style and Art Nouveau. The interior is synonymous with elegance and was designed in this way to welcome the more refined hotel guests. The reception, the lobby, the lemon house (now a conference room), the restaurant (now a breakfast room), the bar and the lift all epitomize the intrinsic elegance of this building. The fully equipped rooms are distributed over six floors, the upper most of which has the typical Genovese attic-style rooms. The hotel is situated near the Brignole train station.
