Everything for the professional smoker |
Via XII Ottobre, 148r Genoa 16100 Italy |
This tobacconist can satisfy every man's appetite for tobacco. They have everything from rare cigars to smoking devices. They have all the things you would expect to find in the smoking room of an English club - pipes, tobaccos, matches, lighters and refined table games. We also recommend ladies to go in the shop to have a look at the splendid false jewels. These synthetic stones would fool an expert. Set in real gold, the bracelets, necklaces and earrings are extravagant and elegant. They also sell the sort of cigarette cases and lighters which divas from the silver screen draw from their crocodile skin handbags. Review © 2007, Wcities |

This record shop is slightly away from the main street but it still faces onto the Via San Vicenzo, the city's pedestrianised shopping area. This is on the route of the Saturday afternoon "passaggio". The shop specialises in Jazz: rereleases, new releases, compilations and sections devoted to particular artists. There is a wide choice of different styles of jazz from its origins to fusion and the new schools. There's vinyl for the collectors and CDs for those who want the latest material. Music and video megastore |
Via Porto Antico, Magazzini del Cotone Genoa 16123 Italy +38 10 2518330 |
The shop is inside the old Cotton warehouse near the Old port. It's open until midnight. It's a huge shop divided into sections (many of which are not well-stocked) of CD's which are then subdivided by price. There are both second hand and new releases, and there is a catalogue which contains both mainstream releases, rereleases and compilations. There are four listening posts and sections for videocassettes and videogames. The staff are friendly and attentive in spite of the cash and carry feeling to the store. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Independant label CDs and records |
via Galata 51B/R, Area Banca Carige Genoa 16100 Italy |
This shop was recently opened by three young entrepreneurs, and is now known locally as 'the three guys' shop'. There is not an enormous range of stock, but the quality albums are much sought after, and even for the most sophisticated it would be difficult not to find something interesting. There is a good selection of LPs, 7' singles, punk cds, ska, emo, indie, noise, and heavy metal. Those who still remain unimpressed will be pleased with the selection of T-shirts and merchandise featuring their favorite bands. They buy second-hand records and cds. This shop deserves support.
