Board games for all ages |
9 Gibson Street Glasgow G12 8NU United Kingdom +44 141 342 4300 |
Several different kinds of Monopoly are sold in this place, but unfortunately none of them tell you how to stop your friends robbing the bank, building hotels on Mayfair and having tantrums when they end up with the shoe counter. You can buy virtually any board game in existence here whether you want the intellectual challenge of Chess, Go and Mah Jong or just something fun and rowdy to play with the family like Rapidough or Guess Who. They also have a great selection of card games, soft toys and magnetic travel games to make long journeys seem shorter. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Art supplies, creative toys and gifts |
94 Queen Street Glasgow G1 3EN United Kingdom +44 141 221 1101 |
This shop sells all the supplies a budding Rembrandt requires so it's a necessary haunt of art students. But as well as brushes, paints and specialist papers, it has a fantastic selection of beads, strings and shiny things for making jewelry and photo frames. It's a great place to find a gift for somebody creative as they have a huge range of kits to choose from, plus toys, magnetic dress-up Venus de Milos, pocket games, novelty items and genuinely amusing greetings cards. It's always packed and there's barely enough space to turn around so be careful not to knock the displays over. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Old-fashioned toys and games |
26 Saint Georges Road Trongate Glasgow G1 5RA United Kingdom +44 141 552 7763 |
Anyone who's ever wanted to run away and join the circus will love this colorful shop. The best toys are the old-fashioned ones that don't break when accidentally stood upon, and that's exactly what you'll find here. They stock chunky toy boats, juggling equipment, kites, face paints, rocking horses, parachutes, earth balls, puppets, Russian matrioshka dolls, clockwork toys, stocking fillers and much, much more. The owners also organize circus skills workshops and hire out clowns for special occasions. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Loyalty cards available |
48 Buchanan Street Glasgow G1 2FF United Kingdom http://www.ebworld.com/ |
With other branches in the St Enoch Centre and Braehead Shopping and Leisure Centre you could be forgiven for thinking this company had a monopoly, because they seem to be everywhere. Great package deals on consoles and gaming software make this a very competitively priced outlet with a supermarket style loyalty card scheme, part-exchanges and second-hand deals that prove to be ample persuasion for customers to keep coming back. Entertainment consoles and games |
77 Union Street Glasgow G1 3TA United Kingdom +44 141 248 8272 |
This shop claims to have the lowest prices in town when it comes to computer games and accessories. They've got games for PCs and all consoles, from the old Saturn that Sega stopped making years ago to Dreamcast and PlayStation 2. You can trade a pile of old games in and exchange them for the latest ones out or just choose another second-hand game and spend the rest of your money on eye drops and coffee. G Force also does console maintenance and is always full of young men and women having intense discussions about Tomb Raider and Tekken. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Other people's junk |
Dowanside Lane Byres Road Glasgow G12 9BZ United Kingdom +44 141 341 0007 |
Sometimes there's a fine line between kitsch and plain old tacky but both camps are well-represented in this fascinating shop. 1940s and 50s memorabilia and mechanical toys rub shoulders with old Star Wars figures, annuals, comics and big pub mirrors, so browse carefully and recreate your favourite era. They have some beautiful tea sets and glassware, many of which are art deco in style. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Old-fashioned toys for modern girls and boys |
175 Great George Street Glasgow G12 8AQ United Kingdom +44 141 334 6070 |
This is a great little toy shop with an old-fashioned style of stock, none of those nasty violent toys here. Model soldiers are the plastic kind which usually get chewed by their owners and there's a whole menagerie of cute toy animals for playing zoo. They sell rocking horses and chunky wooden trains, fluffy stuffed animals and coloring books, shiny stickers, puppets and kites, as well as learning toys and games that help you make candles and mosaics. In the middle of the shop are lots of stocking-fillers: crayons, colorful jewelery, wind-up teeth, and red plastic fish that curl up on your palm to announce that you're in a bad mood.
