Patrons wear black and have long, loud discussions. Tuesdays are reggae nights, on Wednesdays, local celebrities act as DJs. On weekends it tends to get loud here but the atmosphere is merry, not aggressive. The restaurant is the savior of many a poor student as it is possible to order large entrées at reasonable prices. The bouncers are some of the nicest in the city.

http://www.olearys.se An American sports bar with 30 TVs and three giant screens, O'Learys attracts the true sports fans, offering also a typical American menu. The chain has branches in many Swedish towns but the one in Gothenburg was the first. The two-storey restaurant has several bars and even though the main attractions here are beer and sports, it is possible to have a really good meal. The large selection goes from Chicken Thai to chicken wings, covering everything in between. The décor is typical, with plenty of pictures, sports paraphernalia and red-and-white chequered tablecloths. The personnel is service-minded the American way, dropping by every few minutes to check that everything is satisfactory.

Stage Door is the place where actors and musicians hang out (as you might guess from the name). Or at least the performing arts students—the restaurant is not very far from Artisten, the University of Gothenburg's artistic centre. The menu offers a variety of different dishes and specialities. From Mexican food and burgers to pasta and salads. The prices are very reasonable and the premises large, so it can get pretty loud as the evening progresses, but the atmosphere is jovial. The closest tram stop is Berzeliigatan.

http://www.warehouse.se Warehouse has a 100 percent American concept, fitting as it is located in Nordstan, a shopping complex worthy of mall status. The food at Warehouse consists of Tex-Mex, BLTs, steaks, barbecued ribs and burgers, and plenty of them. For lunch, an all-you-can-eat buffet offers a selection of dishes from the normal menu and several different pan pizzas. The nearest tram stop is Brunnsparken, past which all lines go.
