One of the few places in Gothenburg where smoking is strictly prohibited. The owner, Pietro Fioriniello, prefers the guests not to use their mobile phones either—he has had a "no ringing" sign printed at the bottom of the menu. And on the stonewalls of the restaurant, he also exhibits his paintings. The food is typically Italian, with one exception—there is not a single pizza to be had. La Cucina Italiana is situated right opposite Svenska Mässan, where many exhibitions and conferences are held, and is very popular among the Gothenburg locals.

+46 31 16 4160 Le Baron, in spite of its name, is quite a pleasant, humble little restaurant offering both pizzas and an à la carte menu, among other things. The restaurant is right opposite Svenska Mässan, where many exhibitions and conferences are held. It is cosy but small, with brick walls and chequered tablecloths. The menu offers pizzas, several solid meat and fish dishes, and also some cheaper smaller ones and a number of pasta dishes of which one is vegetarian. There are several salads to choose from and a separate children's menu. The pizzas are available for takeaway. The daily lunches include a choice of the pizzas from the menu and also a traditional Swedish dish, which varies from day to day.

Lejonet och Björnen is not the leading brand of ice cream in Gothenburg, but it is the most exclusive. You can buy the ice cream in many places around the city, but nowhere will you find as large a selection as at their parlour on Gamlestadsvagen.

+46 31 16 1183 Linnéa is on Södra Vägen, not far from Götaplatsen, and is one of Gothenburg's finest restaurants. The dining area is divided into several different rooms and decorated in a modern yet simple style. There are several different menus to choose from, apart from the regular dishes. Set three-course meals in different price classes, are available, as well as special menus composed by the chefs using the ingredients of the day. The business dinner menu includes a starter, a main course, coffee and truffle. The daily lunch is expensive and exclusive but always includes the choice of a low calorie dish. The wine list is never-ending with a wide assortment at varying prices. The nearest tram stop is Berzeliigatan, where lines 4 and 5 stop. It is not a long walk from Avenyn and Valand, where many more trams stop.
