Mr Rice serves Southeast Asian food all mixed together—Malaysian, Indonesian and Vietnamese. At lunchtime, the guests choose whether they want rice or noodles—or both —with their special. The same thing goes for the evening menu, but then there are more dishes to choose from. Mr Rice is not very far from Järntorget, and it is as a lunch restaurant that it is most popular. But the evening menu is interesting and offers a variety of dishes hard to find at a regular Chinese or Indonesian restaurant. The décor is odd, but interesting.

+46 31 13 8800 Noon is located in Vasastan, an area in Gothenburg famous for its Southeast Asian restaurants. Noon is among the best of these. The menu consists mainly of Thai food. There are a variety of dishes to choose from, but the portions are not that generous. The décor is minimalist, as it is at most modern restaurants. The outside terrace is very popular during the summer, as it is situated on the sunny side of the street. The bar is also quite popular, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, when they have a DJ. The nearest tram stop is Vasa/Viktoriagatan, trams 2 and 3 stop here.

+46 31 15 1210 Thai Orchid is a large Thai restaurant a little out of the centre. The Stampen area is first of all commercial, with several motorbike shops and other industrial businesses. There is a lot of housing in the area, however, and perhaps it is the inhabitants who are attracted to inexpensive oriental food. Besides over fifty main courses, this place offers salads, rice and noodle dishes and a few vegetarian alternatives. A selection of the dishes on the menu are available for take-away.

+46 31 13 2000 Definitely the place for a party, but at the same time this place is cozy for diner too. The food is Southeast Asian, with a focus on Thai cuisine. The reason most people come here, however, is for the bar and nightclub. Venue strives for a cool nightclub feeling with two bars, a dance floor and a DJ. Friday is gay night, with the compulsory drag queens and cocktail specials. The guests take advantage of the dance floor every night—a few might find it too cramped. And the long queue outside bears witness to Venue's popularity.
