Syrian-Lebanese restaurant |
Rentzelstraße 50 Hamburg, Hamburg 20146 +49 (0)40 45 4975 |
The A´Shamra is a Syrian-Lebanese restaurant near the university. It has North African and Middle Eastern specialties, which are quite unusual by Hamburg standards. Every Friday night belly-dancing provides a special and colourful attraction for the guests within the otherwise mainly white room, which is decorated with Oriental accessories. The clientele is a good mixture of students and businessmen. The Mazza-plates with sometimes over 30 appetizer variations are a must. This starter can also be delivered to your home along with unleavened bread for groups of ten or more people. The same applies for several vegetable dishes, and hot meals like filled lamb on rice, for example. The tender kebab with mince meat skewers is also recommended. An Arabian coffee with interesting spices rounds the meal off nicely. Review © 2009, Wcities |
