The Indian restaurant Ashoka is based near the red light district and St Pauli football stadium, and offers both hot meals and Indian sweets. Many regulars have known the owner for years. They appreciate a good meal from the extensive menu in a friendly atmosphere. The odd celebrity can also be spotted. In addition to rice platters and classic delicacies like chicken biryani or Tandoori meats with basmati rice, there are a number of dishes from each of the various regions of India, among them tasty samosas and recommended desserts such as spicy ice cream.
