There are many good reasons to take a trip to Aumühle. Walking through this picturesque little town you will see several exclusive villas. You could visit Fürst Bismarck's Museum and Mausoleum on the outskirts of town in the direction of Friedrichsruh, or you can take a nice long walk through the beautiful Saxonian Forest. There is also an attraction for trainspotters and railway fans. The Verein Verkehrsamateure und Museumsbahn e.V. maintains an open-air museum for historic trains behind the engine shed at Aumühle station. Interesting old railway carriages are renovated for visitors here. The museum is open at weekends. YIt is worth noting that there is some exquisite gastronomy to be had around the lake in Aumühle-not just for tired day-trippers. Review © 2009, Wcities |
