There is always a cheerful crowd at the busy Café Sommerterrassen. They stage live music on a more or less daily basis and the ambience has a certain Brazilian flair. It is for the most part trendy and high society regulars who frequent this cafe. Such a beautifully located café on the Stadtpark canal does not have particularly reasonable prices, but has other attractive features-customers can watch canoeists go by from the terrace and if the place is just too packed, hire a canoe from the café's own berth and explore Hamburg's canals. 'Sommerterrassen' (Summer terraces) is a more than apt name, as in good weather it is a perfect spot in which to soak up some sun (usually until at least 8pm) and a beautiful sunset.
