Bavarian food in Hamburg |
Große Theaterstraße 9 Hamburg, Hamburg 20354 +49 (0)40 34 5756 http://www.restaurant-franziskaner.de/ |
If you've had enough of the allegedly stiff and formal Hanseatic people, and feel you could do with proper Bavarian food and ambience for a change, why not try the Franziskaner. The waitresses wear traditional Dirndl dresses and the interior is very impressively decorated in authentic Bavarian style. There are rumours that real Bavarian guests sometimes spontaneously start singing folk songs at the bar. Rich and tasty meals like roast pork and veal sausage with pickled cabbage, pretzels and dumplings are on the menu here. They can be washed down with the typical Maß (1 litre) of real Bavarian beer - even in Hamburg! Review © 2009, Wcities |
