The well-maintained Klövensteen is part of the Rantzau Forest, northwest of the city. It is a popular area for day trippers from Hamburg and further afield. It offers outdoor leisure activities for the whole family. There is pony riding and deer watching at the reserve, but you can also set out on long, quiet walks or even 4 to 5-hour hikes into the neighbouring areas of Schnaken and Butterbargmoor from here. A riding stable with picturesque trails is part of Klövensteen as well. To experience the landscape on horseback certainly adds a little extra thrill.
