Art and events inside the castle |
Schlossstraße 5 Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein 21465 +49 (0)40 727 9162 http://www.schloss-reinbek.de/ |
Reinbek Castle was designed as a hunting lodge. Adolf Duke of Schleswig-Holstein Gottorf built it in 1576 in the fashion of the Dutch Renaissance. It is located by a beautiful little lake, which makes it both a good starting point or final destination for a long walk. The building was thoroughly refurbished from 1977-1987 and has served as a cultural centre since then. Temporary art exhibitions and classical concert as well as many other events take place here. There is also a nice café with an open-air terrace within the castle. Review © 2009, Wcities |
