Café with open-air terrace near the NDR broadcasting building |
Rothenbaumchaussee 137 Hamburg, Hamburg 20149 Germany +49 (0)40 44 4174 |
The Funk-Eck is a traditional café with a nice open-air terrace. It is located near both the Landesfunkhaus (broadcasting buidling) and the tennis courts at Rothenbaum. You can have a lovely breakfast here all day long, which is particularly enjoyable in sunny weather, along with the good service provided here and a daily paper to read through. Hamburg´s media people still appreciate this. In good weather the terrace stays open until 10pm. The café also has very tempting ice-cream and home-made cakes and gateaux with a large choice of coffees. In addition to a changing lunch special, there are hot and cold snacks on the menu, as well as a variety of traditional meals and dishes from the wok. Review © 2007, Wcities |

In true Chinese style! |
Spielbudenplatz 18 Hamburg, Hamburg 20359 Germany +49 (0)40 319 2511 |
This restaurant gives you an opportunity to enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in a traditional setting with Chinese lamps and other adornments making up the decor. Favorites at this restaurant include Dim-Sum, Chicken Feet, Chopsuey Chicken and the like. The atmosphere is quite informal, so it's fine if you're wearing sneakers below your formal pants; the main focus is on the food. With an array of dishes to choose from and reasonable prices, you can't ask for more! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Chinese and Malaysian cuisine in Barmbek |
Fuhlsbütteler Straße 236 Hamburg, Hamburg 22307 Germany +49 (0)40 690 5914 |
The Orchideen-Palast (orchid palace) is a nice Chinese restaurant in Barmbek with very polite and quick service. Apart from Chinese fish and meat cuisine it also offers a choice of recommended Malaysian dishes. The orchid palaces typical Chinese interior is very tastefully decorated. There are beautiful silk paintings on the walls, and the well-maintained aquarium and goldfish pond create a pleasant atmosphere. There are little separated corners with round tables, as well as lovely wooden and glass carvings. The ceiling is nicely decorated with illuminated coloured glass. Review © 2007, Wcities |
