This little ice-cream parlour is a great place for a daily visit if your wallet and conscience agree. It is the perfect stop after a shopping trip to busy Altona. If you are on the Ottenser Hauptstraße, this nice and quiet ice-cream oasis is reached in just a few minutes by walking from the Mercado shopping arcade. In good weather an ice-cream, espresso or milkshake can be very refreshing whilst sitting on the bench in front. The ice-cream is homemade by the owners and a single cone only costs (EUR 0.5). The parlour's interior may be a bit plain, but that doesn't mean it isn't comfortable. You can sit on the broad bench at the window with your back to the bricks - which children have decorated with those classic paper umbrellas we all used to love when we were young. If there weren't two branches of this unusual ice-cream parlour, you'd have to admit that Einzeit is unique! It is only here that pregnant women only pay half price for each cone, although the ice-cream is just (EUR 0.5) per scoop. It's not just the names of the flavours which are a bit different, though. The ingredients also say something about their maker's creative powers - the odd biscuit or chocolate bar in the new round shape of a scoop of ice-cream are not a rarity here. All this makes up for having to eat standing up, as, despite the large number of pregnant customers, there are no seats available.
