Rautenbergstraße 6-8 Hamburg, Hamburg 20099 Germany +49 (0)40 2805 4880 http://www.barhamburg.com/ |
Located between the Kempinski Hotel Atlantic and the red-light district around the station, this bar is a new addition to the scene, but has rapidly developed into one of the places to go out. If you're lucky, you may find yourself propping up the bar next to the likes of Mick Jagger or Bryan Adams. Otherwise, this place is full of Hamburg's rich and beautiful, sipping cocktails and digging into the tasty snacks served up in the basement restaurant. A host of DJs offer musical entertainment. Beer costs from EUR3, wine from EUR4. Review © 2007, Wcities |

An electic montage |
Friedensallee 9 Hamburg, Hamburg 22765 Germany +49 (0)40 390 4606 |
The pizzas here are a regular favorite - known to be the 'best in the country', the pastas too are delicious enough for any Italian food lover. The crowd that comes in is generally a pre-theatre one or then locals looking for a quick and light meal. The sassy decor and the general energy filled atmosphere of the eatery is just one of the reasons for its consistent popularity! Review © 2007, Wcities |

Japanese restaurant with favourable prices |
Thielbek 12 Hamburg, Hamburg 20355 Germany +49 (0)40 40 5530 http://www.hokkai.de/ |
Admittedly, the Sushi tradition in this Hanseatic city is booming, but this classic Japanese restaurant has something more to offer than just compressed fish and rice. In a chic atmosphere, a mixed crowd of regular guests, some of whom are Japanese, wander about amongst the attentive staff. The tempura and the range of fish, meat and vegetable dishes is highly recommended. The Hokkai is situated inside a beautiful historic building. Hamburg's New Town square Großneumarkt is only a few footsteps away. Review © 2007, Wcities |

The biggest and oldest sushi bar in Hamburg |
Hoheluftchaussee 49 Hamburg, Hamburg 20235 Germany +49 (0)40 420 2661 |
Sushi, sushi and more sushi. But it is not just sushi that is available at Hamburg´s oldest and largest sushi bar in the neighbourhood of Hoheluftbrücke, although you can get all possible variations of the popular fish rice roll. Japanese specialities are also not the only things prepared on the open grill here. On Wednesdays and Thursdays there is a sushi buffet and on Fridays live music is played-this is an acquired taste. Japanese cuisine in the Colonnaden |
Colonnaden 96 Hamburg, Hamburg 20354 Germany +49 (0)40 34 3125 |
The upper price category Matsumi restaurant is located in the beautiful and popular Colonnaden. It offers traditional dishes, but also rare Japanese specialities. On the outside, the Matsumi has a modern, but distinctly Japanese design. Inside, there are plain little tables and a long bar to dine at. Many Japanese people come here for the authentic ambience and a nice meal. In addition to Wapanabe (vegetable stew) and Miso soup, there are tempura, sukiyaki and sushi creations on the menu; the sushi is particularly impressive. Sushi master Morita is even authorized to prepare poisonous fish. Review © 2007, Wcities |
