Turkish restaurant near the university campus |
Grindelhof 17 Hamburg, Hamburg 20146 Germany +49 (0)40 44 8441 http://www.arkadasch.de/ |
The Turkish restaurant Arkadasch faces the university campus. It is equally popular amongst students and older regulars. Friendly service and cosy seating areas with wooden chairs and benches in the basement make for a pleasant visit. In the summer, when the Arkadasch becomes a street cafe as well, you can also dine outside. There are salads, light or tasty starters and a large variety of mainly Turkish meat dishes, but also vegetarian meals like sheep's cheese or aubergines. Until late at night some meals like Kebab, meatballs and fillet of lamb are available. The Arkadasch offers a choice of international wines and Turkish spirits. There is a happy hour every day, and a good breakfast is available from 8.30am. Review © 2007, Wcities |

In Hamburg since 1968 |
Rutschbahn 11 Univiertel Hamburg, Hamburg 20146 Germany +49 (0)40 410 3810 |
The At Nali is located near the campus. Hamburg´s oldest Turkish restaurant has offered classic dishes from its local cuisine since 1968. The owner has already published two books on Turkish cooking. The interior is very unusual and rustic. Saddles and cartwheels are part of the decoration, as well as a tiled floor. But this keeps neither students nor tv celebrities from dining here on a regular basis. There also is a beer garden. There are lots of traditional Turkish meat dishes, but also a choice of set fish meals and vegetarian creations on the menu. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Tasty specialities from Anatolia |
Lerchenfeld 48 Mundsburg Hamburg, Hamburg 22081 Germany +49 (0)40 229 9055 |
The Turkish restaurant Baris is located in a corner building at a rather busy crossroads, but once inside you won´t notice the traffic any longer. A nice meal here can be combined with a visit to the English theatre or the Warner Village cinemas. Lots of typical decor from Anatolia like pictures, tapestry and pottery create a cosy atmosphere. That´s why many guests like to stay on for a while after they have finished their meal. In summer, you can also dine outside. The menu offers typical Turkish dishes with tender, tasty meat and vegetables, which are not only grilled. The mixed starter platter is recommended, before you can choose from a large number of main courses most of which are prepared according to the German palate rather than the Turkish.
