Uetersen, the city of roses, is located some 40km northwest of Hamburg. It has become famous because of its beautiful rose garden-the Rosarium. This park is the largest of its kind in northern Germany. There are 35,000 roses, which both local and international specialists have contributed to the exhibition. A total of 700 different kinds can be seen at the park. There is also a lake and a hotel with a restaurant at the Rosarium, and in good weather you can sit on its terrace and enjoy hot meals, coffee, cake and ice-cream.
