There is a former factory building, 5 minutes walk from the Sternschanze metro stop, which has several projects going on within its walls today. One of them is the Schanzenstern, a special kind of hostel. Located in the middle of the lively Schanzenviertel, it makes for a good and inexpensive accommodation alternative - especially for young people. In addition to an unusual interior and an unconventional ambience, there is a nice pub, also open to non-hostel guests. It is nice to sit here and enjoy homemade cake and a coffee before or after a visit to the 3001 cinema, another institution on the premises. You can spend beautiful summer nights in good company in the little beer garden here, and you should also try the nice food on the frequently changing menu. Review © 2009, Wcities |
