One thousand year-old church |
Sinstorfer Kirchenweg 21 Sinstorf Hamburg, Hamburg 21077 +49 (0)40 760 0347 http://www.kirche-sinstorf.de/ |
One of Hamburg´s oldest churches can be found south of Harburg. The history of Sinstorf´s church can be traced back to the 9th Century. There originally used to be a wooden church building on the little hill surrounded by oak trees, but it was replaced with a fieldstone edifice later, and has seen many changes over the centuries. A separate wooden belfry also belongs to the church. The interior galleries are decorated with beautiful paintings from the 16th and 17th Centuries. Sinstorf church is very popular among bridal couples. Three to four weddings a week are no rarity here. Review © 2009, Wcities |
