This market started in 1988 with just four farmers selling their produce, but now has a whopping 124 vendors selling farm and dairy products like eggs, milk, vegetables, fish and meat. Artifacts and accessories in jute are sold too. No wonder it was named the Best Open Market in 1999 and 2000 by the Hawaii Tribune-Herald. Time to shop! Review © 2007, Wcities

A mainstay on the tourist and restaurateur circuit is this century-old fish market, which is best known for its morning fish auction. Local fishermen display their catches to dozens of wholesalers and restaurant owners. All kinds of fresh fish are auctioned off while curious tourists look on. The auction is held every morning except Sunday. The market is a great place to buy fish without having to bid. The selection and quality are both good and the prices tend to be low.
