Be transported to the French countryside when you step across the threshold into this historic cottage on the edge of River Oaks. Sit on the front porch when the weather is mild to savor your favorite glass of wine, a Salade Niçoise, and Canard aux Cerises (roast duck in a black cherry caramel). This fine example of 19th-century Texas architecture, surrounded by beautiful gardens, complete with bubbling fountain, romantic gazebo, and Victorian greenhouse, is the perfect setting to get away from it all, if only for a few hours.
