This is not your average sushi bar. The décor in this popular restaurant is modern noir, with high-backed black leather window booths and red lights. The sushi is amazing (flown in fresh three times a week) and perfectly portioned. But what puts this place over the top are the other menu items, like the miso-marinated silver cod that melts in your mouth, or the loaded Continental miso soup with clams, seaweed, tofu, and rice. On the weekends, you'll find a "Mercedes crowd" in their Manolo Blahniks, but you can miss the crowds (and some pretentiousness) during the week and at lunch. -JoAnn Takasaki Review © 2009, Wcities |
