Although it is completely unrelated to anything medical, at the south edge of the Medical Center you will find an architectural wonder that represents one of the proudest moments in Houston's history. Dubbed the "Eighth Wonder of the World" upon its completion in 1965, the Astrodome revolutionized the concept of sports stadiums in the U.S. It has been home to the Astros, the Oilers and the annual Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
