Once upon a time, women clustered in "beauty parlors" on a weekly basis to spend a few hours bonding (gossiping, laughing, and getting their hair done and all that). Nowadays, there is little time for this important ritual. One of the few places to relive those days is Venus Beauty Salon where you are inclined to linger even after your hair is done (even if it is just to examine the wild decor). The tiny, cash-only shop is owned and operated by the two Susans (Romeo and Venus), who also create a lot of the hairstyles worn to Houston's wacky annual Hair Ball. No matter what type of hairstyle you are aiming for, from an old-fashioned wash-and-set to trendy blown-dry shag, they can achieve it.
