Fun specialty sport |
At Anini Beach P. O. Box 1602 (mailing address) Kauai, HI 96714 United States +1 808 826 9463 |
Beginning windsurfers often exclaim that the sport is harder than it looks. Avid windsurfers will retort that it is more than worth the trouble. Cruising through the water at speeds of 20 miles per hour or more, borne only by the power of the wind and the sail, is a heady experience. People who want to get past the challenge and into the fun of the sport should book time with the pros at Anini Beach. Knowledgeable and friendly, the instructors can accommodate any age or experience level. The introductory lesson comes with a satisfaction guarantee. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Fun in the air and in the water too! |
Hanama‘ulu Junction, off Highway 56 Kauai, HI 96715 United States +1 808 245 2506 / +1 888 270 0555 (Toll free) http://www.kauaibackcountry.com/ |
Make your way to this establishment located off Highway 56 in Hanama'ulu. Choose between Backcountry Zipline and Mountain Tubing tours—the first has you dressed up in a swimsuit, sitting in a tube (you read that right!) making your way through streams and canals. The second option will make you feel the wind beneath your wings! You harness yourself with a rope that extends from a mountain to a valley across water bodies and trees. Then you simply descend at the most rapid speed possible, aided by gravity! The tours are offered in an area of 17,000 acres, formerly occupied by plantations. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Hawaiian fun |
Classes held on Poipu Beach Kauai, HI 96756 United States +1 808 332 7411 http://www.kauaisurfschool.com |
Kids in Hawaii learn to surf about the same time they start school, and while tourists might be a few years behind the natives, there is no better time to learn than during a Hawaii vacation. The company holds classes year-round next to the Sheraton hotel on Poipu Beach. All levels are accommodated. Classes last approximately two hours. The water is warm, the groups are small (four person maximum), and the instructors are cheery and professional. It definitely beats school on the mainland! Call for more information. You can do it! |
P. O. Box 3403 Kauai, HI 96722 United States +1 808 826 7612 |
The name of this company leaves little to the imagination. It's quite clear what you'll do here, if you choose. Learn to "stand up" in the warm waters of Kaua'i, on a sandy-bottom beach with an experienced, trained, First Aid-certified instructor. This is the perfect place for beginners to learn. Only one or two students are in each class, making it more like private instruction than a class. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Scuba diving experts |
4800 Hanalei Pinton Road Kauai, HI 96714 United States +1 808 828 1223 |
This company knows all the best spots and stays open all year round. It offers a number of shore and boat dives, night dives and other special excursions. Braver spirits will want to try a shark dive, while less fearless folk may opt to dive with sea turtles. Lava tubes and other remnants of ancient volcanic activity provide myriad places for advanced divers to explore. This company caters more to advanced divers. It can set you up with accommodations upon request. Review © 2007, Wcities |
