Pretty, breezy accommodations |
4122 Koloa Road Kauai, HI 96756 United States |
Airy and bright, with pastel furnishings and exposed-beam ceilings of blonde wood, these rooms are perfectly suited to the golden tropics of Kauai. The units are cozy and pretty, with sliding glass doors that look out on the garden or the beach. The property is two miles from Old Koloa Town. Each of the two studios has a private kitchen. The guestroom has a shared bath, but is a great value. Guests are provided with beach chairs, mats, ice chests and other beach accessories. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Great value on the South Shore |
2687 Onu Place Kauai, HI 96741 United States +1 808 332 9201 |
Unlike most places in Kauai, you can get quite a bit of bang for the buck here. For prices that you might find at a bargain hotel in the Midwest, guests at these cottages can enjoy complimentary access to the Kiahuna Tennis and Swim Club, complimentary use of beach gear (boogie boards included!) and more. The beach is just outside, and golf, shopping and dining are a few minutes away by car. Though simple, the cottages are attractive and convenient. Each has its own kitchen. Review © 2007, Wcities |

A favorite of bargain hunters and bargain-hunting travel guides, this modest hotel is located on the harbor near Lihue Airport. Simple, plainly furnished guestrooms are available, but people on a slightly bigger budget can choose to stay in one of the "Orchid Suites" on the third floor. Rooms are equipped with kitchen facilities, wet bars, free Kona Coffee and ceiling fans. Beach gear is available to guests. Of course, no garden inn is complete without its garden...and the garden in question is quite a treat. A profusion of vivid flowers and graceful tropical trees, it serves as a back yard and is accessible to all guests. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Get back to nature |
Kahili Mountain Park off Hwy 50 west, 1 mile inland past 7 mile marker Kauai, HI 96756 United States +1 808 742 9921 |
One step up from a tent, these cabins offer adventure-seeking tourists exactly what they want: the chance to surround themselves with the natural wonders of Hawaii. In some cabins, only the basics are provided: a roof, a stove and a shared outdoor shower. The newer cabins have private bathrooms and even screened porches. Still, these lodgings are rustic at best. Note: No need to bring tissue or a cooking pan; those items are provided. Kitchen facilities, laundry facilities, hiking trails. Owned by Seventh Day Adventist Church. Check website for further information. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Inexpensive condominiums in town |
380 Papaloa Road Kauai, HI 96746 United States +1 808 822 4901 / +1 800 222 4901 |
Situated on the beach in Kauai's main town, these condominiums are low-priced and centrally located. The units offer spacious, no-frills lodgings for families or small groups on a budget. The layout is similar to that of residential condos on Kauai or Maui; two-story brown buildings are clustered on the lawn, with the beach on one side. While these are vacation rentals, they are definitely intended for longer stays; the minimum stay is three days, and monthly rates are available. The Coconut Marketplace, Long's Drugs, Safeway and several other major businesses are nearby. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Owned and operated by Chris Turner, founder of the Kauai Surf School, these cottages are perfect for world wandering bohemians on a budget. They are cozy and charming, with picturesque decor and stunning surroundings. While the dwellings provide the atmosphere of a jungle getaway, little touches such as sunken slate Jacuzzi tubs and fireplaces (in the large room) add a little class.
