Bijou Municipal Golf Course is located in a beautiful mountain meadow in South Lake Tahoe. It is open from April to October every year. The course is a nine hole, family course and spans almost 2002 yards. Golf shoppers can either visit the pro shop or relax at the snack bar (open from 7.30am-6pm) after a long game. Reservations are not required as you are given a chance on a first come first basis. Beginners can also opt for lessons. Fees for 9 holes: resident of El Dorado county $15, non-resident $18.

Eagle Falls Hike

Walk this majestic trail to a beautiful waterfall. It is an easy quarter-mile hike through the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Enjoy the fresh air, and see the flora and fauna indigenous to the area and breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe at every turn. If you're bringing the kids, keep an eye out for some steep spots that drop off abruptly. When you reach your final destination, you will be treated to the beautiful sight of water rushing over boulders and heading down the river to Lake Tahoe. If you are enjoying yourself and have a lot of energy, keep walking on the trail another three-quarters of a mile to Eagle Lake.

This facility is one of the most popular and beautiful golf courses in northern Nevada. It is the home of the American Celebrity Golf Championship held annually in July. Tee times are extremely hard to come by, but worth the trouble to play this marvelous and challenging course. The par-72 golf venue is rated in the "Top 100" in the country By Golf Digest and the most difficult in Nevada.

This is perhaps the most scenic and popular trail in the country. It winds 150-miles through national forest, wilderness and park lands. Hike, bike or horseback ride in the thick conifer forests and beautiful meadows. Unlimited panoramic views are at every turn, from horizon to horizon, high atop the granite peaks. Visitors can fish, picnic or camp along beautiful streams and lakes. Enjoy it for a few hours or even a few days, but remember to leave it as you found it. To hike on this trail, you must register at the kiosk at the trailhead.
