Skiing for the physically challenged |
2600 Alpine Meadows Road Lake Tahoe, CA 96174 United States +1 530 583 4232 http://www.alpinemeadows.com/ |
Skiing Magazine called this resort "A mountain with a distinctly split personality: a mild side and a wild side." On the wild side, 75 percent of the runs are for expert skiers. Natural hazards and an elevation of 8,637 feet gives extreme skiers enough challenges to keep them busy all day. On the mild side, students with mental and physical disabilities can enjoy the challenge of skiing at the Tahoe Adaptive Ski School. Adaptive equipment rental is also available. The school operates November through April most seasons depending on snow. Review © 2007, Wcities |

455 North Lake Boulevard (35 miles west of Reno) Lake Tahoe, CA 96145 United States |
Lake Tahoe, which holds enough water to cover the state of California to a depth of 14 inches, was once named 'big water' by the Washoe Indian Tribe. This beautiful, pristine lake, nestled in the Sierra Nevada, is located on the Nevada and California border. The lake is 22 miles long, 12 miles wide and has 72 miles of shoreline. Sixty-three streams flow into the lake; but only one river, the Truckee, flows out of it. One-third of the lake lies in Nevada, and there are miles of biking, hiking and equestrian trails for your outdoor pleasure. Enjoy a multitude of beaches where you can bask in the sun or swim. Whether you come here for recreation or solitude, this breathtakingly beautiful lake will meet all your expectations. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Designed by Mrs. May Web Dunn in 1917, this course is 5,261 yards and par 33. The course overlooks Lake Tahoe, so you may be distracted by the breathtaking views. The caddy program continues to hire local youths, in keeping with Mrs. Dunn's wishes. The practice area includes a putting green, chipping bunker and netted driving range. Be sure to make your tee-off reservations two weeks in advance and, if you change your mind, there is a two-week cancellation policy. Review © 2007, Wcities |

You must be accurate |
12850 Northwoods Boulevard Lake Tahoe, CA 96161 United States +1 530 587 9440 http://www.tahoedonner.com/ |
You must be accurate on this course because the fairways are narrow and there are steep slopes that drop to the greens. The front of the course was designed by Roy Williams, and the back nine by Bill Bell Jr. This course is very hilly and requires a keen eye to make it to the green. Watch out for pine trees on this 6,899-yards, par-71 course. Practice facilities include two putting greens, a driving range and sand traps. Review © 2007, Wcities |
