Dreams were made here and dreams were shattered here. Sinatra sang while Marilyn moped. Kennedy kibitzed and the Rat Pack played. The mob met to do whatever it is that mobs do just because they could. Known as the 'Lady of the Lake', the resort has been a favorite since 1926. Make your own history in this classic casino offering non-stop gaming action. Live music is featured in the famous Circle Bar Saturday nights at 8pm. The deluxe accommodations are extremely comfortable with a lake views.

This is absolutely the best skiing in the area if you want a challenging ski course. The view of Lake Tahoe is breathtaking at the top of The Great Flume or Golden Eagle Bowl runs. The resort offers cross-country skiing, childcare and a wonderful sports shop. If you are really ambitious, try snowshoeing. You can even bring your dog along for a small fee. Shuttle service is available from most major hotels in the area.

This newly renovated hotel and casino is truly one of the jewels of the Sierras. The chalet-styled facility blends in beautifully with the pine forest surroundings. Inside, the open-beamed ceilings and woodsy decor offer a pleasing and comfortable atmosphere. A large stone fireplace in the casino area adds a special touch. The three restaurants offer a variety of menus to please discriminating diners.

This area is considered by many to be the most beautiful beach at Lake Tahoe. All the amenities for an enjoyable stay can be found including boat launches and picnic areas. You can also check out some of the gorgeous homes along the shore like the Wattel Mansion, home of one of California's former governors. The beach is the setting for the annual Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival that takes place during the last five weeks before Labor Day.

Lake Tahoe, NV 89451

Secluded coves, enormous boulders and huge trees make this beach a popular place for nude sunbathers. If that's not your thing, come anyway and enjoy the beautiful beach. You will find a paved parking lot above the beach, but one needs to walk about a mile to reach the water. It's well worth the hike to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the area. Dogs are welcome to join the beach activities. The beach is accessible year-round, if you dare.
