Visitors will find a typical, friendly, sports-themed watering hole at Al's Garage, a place to grab a burger and fries with a few brews and maybe catch the game or drop a few bucks on video poker. But the local regulars know Al's secrets, such as the fact that the cozy patio is a great spot to meet and mingle with young professionals from the area who seek a casual retreat, especially on Thursday nights when a fun crowd packs the house. And though the standard bar grub menu is painted on the wall, you can order from the upscale tavern next door, Kennedy, since the restaurants share a kitchen. -Brock Radke

Located in the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, the All-American Bar & Grill is pretty much just how it sounds. There is a sports bar section with plasma TV's, burgers, plenty of beer, the works, then in the back there's the grill room for a more romantic dining experience complete with two waterfalls. The menu includes various steak, lamb and rib options in good Vegas fashion, but doesn't skimp on the chicken and seafood either. All are cooked on a mesquite wood grill. Attire is casual. +1 702 437 2787
First Friday in Las Vegas has put the Art Bar on the map. Located in a forgotten part of Vegas between the Strip and Downtown Arts District, the Art Bar is an unassuming and welcomed presence. The proprietor is an Elvis impersonator who may be in-house to serve you a beer and tell you a story or two. The walls are covered with local artists work, which is rotated every two weeks or so. You can't help but love the red leather booths and white plastic cocktail tables creating an atmosphere that is both retro and totally contemporary. Some of the best Happy Hour specials in town seal the deal. Come to a wine and cheese art opening or catch some great bands and DJs late night at the Art Bar. -Marilee Ryan

The name of this restaurant means "workshop" in French and every dish served here is inarguably a work of art. Try the much recommended Le Rumsteack en Tartare et ses Frites à L'ancienne (Steak Tartar), or the L'Agneau en Carré Doré a la Fleur de Thym (miniature lamb chops). If you are visiting this place with friends, try the Menu Decouverte—it offers small portions of several dishes and lets you discover what you like best among the various options.

Atomic Liquors is open all day, so head here for a drink whether its day or night. Its probably one of the most popular late-night, early-hour watering hole for locals and tourists alike. With no elite ambience, the bar isn't for those who want to drink while they enjoy their classy surroundings, this is purely for hardcore drinkers. The aren't too many fancy drinks available here either, just good old beer and other spirits such as whiskey, rum, vodka and gin. Even with the limited choice available and the non-snazzy ambiance, the place is usually crowded with locals.

This retro beauty salon-inspired nightclub is uber-trendy, and a good destination in Vegas if you want to take refuge from the casino-infested Strip. The 50's themed bar, complete with old-school salon chairs with hair dryer sets, is just like stepping into a salon, sans booze. DJ's spin seven nights a week with no cover charge, so you can save your money for one their expensive drinks like the Platinum Blonde, or a Shampoo. Unlike their sister spots in San Francisco and LA, Beauty Bar Vegas does not perform "real" manicures. Steve Martorano is a big guy with muscles and tattoos. And he can cook up some mean Italian food. His vision: "Part restaurant. Part nightclub. All Italian." The music is loud, ranging from Frank Sinatra in the early evening to Hip Hop and R&B late at night. It's not unusual for people to dance in the aisles, or even on top of their tables. There is no menu. Instead, a waiter rattles off that day's list of about dozen entrées, but the servings are large and meant for sharing. This is a hugely popular attraction at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, with the prices to go with it, so reservations are highly recommended.

It bills itself as the King of Bars, and while Divebar is an above-average, occasionally rowdy watering hole (and not a dive at all) that also offers decent sandwiches and steaks, its main contribution to the local tavern scene is a weekly schedule chock full of interesting, often eccentric entertainment. Rock or punk bands are the norm, but Monday is saved for an open mic night that defies the term- the entertainment is actually of high quality, hosted by a talented acoustic duo, and featuring a small group of regulars that play all types of music. But if you're just coming to imbibe, catch the Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., including $3 shots of Pirate's Blood.

Let your feet tap and your body sway to the beats while you sip a well-mixed concoction. One of the magic must-trys is the Bellini and the Casino Cocktail. Drinks are pricey, of course, but then what can you expect when you are visiting at the Bellagio?

When first hearing the words "steak" and "house" many people might think of either the dimly lit, elegantly decorated steak houses of New York City (and mobster movies) or the cowhide draped mock-saloons of Texan mythology. However, down on Las Vegas' Miracle Mile sits a third contender, Pampas Brazilian Grille. What makes Pampas different from the aforementioned is the method by which the meats are prepared, on spits as opposed to grills or ovens. To compliment the meat and vegetable skewers they also have a large selection of side dishes like black bean stew, braised kale with garlic, and olive and cheese plates. If you prefer your meal with a drink or two the bar makes cocktails with unique mixers like passion fruit or pomegranate juice, and has a respectable beer and wine selection. Head down to Pampas to enlighten your palate with a Latin American favorite.

Located on the 52nd floor of the Fantasy Tower in the swanky Palms Hotel, the Playboy Club is a pleasure all around. You'll encounter no sour-faced dealers here. Instead, beautiful women wearing tight, skimpy outfits and the signature bunny ears will ease the pain of losing money at craps, cards or slots. When you get hungry, trip downstairs to Nove, a fine Italian restaurant. Later, if you last until the evening, swallow your losses and head up a floor to Moon, a nightclub with a retractable roof that allows its namesake to light your revelry. When it's all worn you out, go back to your room and collapse, until it's time to do it all again.

Since opening in 2004, Teatro Euro Bar has evolved into one of the most popular hotspots in Las Vegas. During Teatro's red-hot after-hours, the club will host celebrity DJs and special events. Enjoy a mix of urban and free-style music that will build the mood for a tempting evening. The music and environment evolves into a global jukebox where the DJ unites a variety of music and genres from around the world transforming the catwalk from an unassuming champagne bar into a vixen-bearing tease. Night crawler meets cat-walker uncovering tantalizing performers as the sexy vignettes seduce guests throughout the night. Teatro, or 'theatre' in Italian, is true nightlife sophistication with a captivating design. World-class designer Adam Tihany acted as design consultant for architects Leo A. Daily Associates. Tihany's imagination and creativity translate dramatically through plush red Ferrari leather and polished stainless steel that lends intensity and movement to the room. The bar¹s standout feature is the backlit projection wall of glass bottles with monitors behind each displaying a variety of sensuous images from flames to female silhouettes. The various forms of entertainment playfully accentuate Tihany¹s designs. Guests may make table reservations complete with fine bottle service or order signature cocktails from the bar. Once known as one of the original Vegas ultra-lounges, V Bar at the Venetian has morphed into a smaller and more intimate venue but maintained its hipness and sense of high style, perhaps since it was created by the team behind New York's Lotus and L.A.'s Sunset Room. Established DJs create a relaxing, subdued mood most nights, but things get urban and busy on Wednesdays for the weekly Midnight Snack Event, one of the cooler but lesser known nightlife events on The Strip. On these nights, tasty hors d'oeuvres, fashion, art exhibits and house music come together to spice things up. -Brock Radke

This relatively quiet martini bar is cool, elegant and comfortable and the best part is that it's open 24 hours a day! Relax on one of the red couches and enjoy the poison of your choice.
