Art Distriction Treasure |
1511, South Main Street Las Vegas, NV 89104 United States +1 702 437 2787 |
First Friday in Las Vegas has put the Art Bar on the map. Located in a forgotten part of Vegas between the Strip and Downtown Arts District, the Art Bar is an unassuming and welcomed presence. The proprietor is an Elvis impersonator who may be in-house to serve you a beer and tell you a story or two. The walls are covered with local artists work, which is rotated every two weeks or so. You can't help but love the red leather booths and white plastic cocktail tables creating an atmosphere that is both retro and totally contemporary. Some of the best Happy Hour specials in town seal the deal. Come to a wine and cheese art opening or catch some great bands and DJs late night at the Art Bar. -Marilee Ryan Review © 2009, Wcities |

VIP Pampering is Standard |

Bare Pool Lounge, located at the Mirage Hotel, is one of the few mixed-sex posh locations in the U.S. in which women are free to lounge topless. Reserve your private daybed or boat bed and order a pitcher of Bloody Marys served in a special pitcher designed to keep your drinks ice cold. Worship the sun European-style in the secluded, designated area. Cool off in either of two luxury dipping pools. In addition to a specialty menu and cocktail service, you may also be spoiled with Evian misting bottles, icy popsicles, chilled cucumbers for your eyes or exotic frozen, skewered fruit. Ask about the iced towels rolled and chilled in flavored water. Every fantasy of pampered poolside living comes true at Bare. You must be 21 to enter. -Marilee Ryan Review © 2009, Wcities |

Like You Just Stepped Out of a Salon |
517 Fremont Street Las Vegas, NV 89101 United States +1 702 598 1965 http://www.beautybar.com/ |
This retro beauty salon-inspired nightclub is uber-trendy, and a good destination in Vegas if you want to take refuge from the casino-infested Strip. The 50's themed bar, complete with old-school salon chairs with hair dryer sets, is just like stepping into a salon, sans booze. DJ's spin seven nights a week with no cover charge, so you can save your money for one their expensive drinks like the Platinum Blonde, or a Shampoo. Unlike their sister spots in San Francisco and LA, Beauty Bar Vegas does not perform "real" manicures. But no worries, they still have the famous "Martini-Manicure Happy Hour," in which they do a manicure demonstration, every bit as good as the real thing. Review © 2009, Wcities |

A howling good time |
6390 West Sahara Avenue Las Vegas, NV 89102 United States +1 702 876 3647 |
Dogs rule the roost at this favorite hangout of Las Vegas locals. Beer flows from fire hydrant taps and dog paintings adorn the walls. Even much of the food is dog-themed. Try the Big Dog Burger, or if you're really hungry, the Two Dog Burger. There is also an Herbed Rotisserie Chicken that will have you licking your chops. Steaks, ribs and quesadillas add to the fun food menu. Wash it down with an award-winning, locally-brewed Holy Cow Beer. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Restaurant Gone Nightclub |
3700 West Flamingo Road Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, NV 89103 United States +1 702 221 8279 http://www.cafemartorano.com/ |
Steve Martorano is a big guy with muscles and tattoos. And he can cook up some mean Italian food. His vision: "Part restaurant. Part nightclub. All Italian." The music is loud, ranging from Frank Sinatra in the early evening to Hip Hop and R&B late at night. It's not unusual for people to dance in the aisles, or even on top of their tables. There is no menu. Instead, a waiter rattles off that day's list of about dozen entrées, but the servings are large and meant for sharing. This is a hugely popular attraction at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, with the prices to go with it, so reservations are highly recommended. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Dance on the bar, pour a shot vodka down your throat |
3790 Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89109-4338 United States +1 702 212 8804 http://www.coyoteuglysaloon.co... |
Just about everything in Las Vegas is over the top, and Coyote Ugly is no exception. This franchise joint based on the 2000 movie of the same name ensures you will have a raucous good time while you get hammered from the free flowing shooters. It's unlikely you will bump into LeAnn Rimes or any other authentic stars, but it's the atmosphere that you go for and not the celebrities. From the women dancing on the bar, pouring beer down their shirts and customers throats, to the loud music and packed house, this is a perfect place for a wild night out. Whether you are looking for a break from the stress of gambling, or an ambiance unlike your normal nightclub, this is a perfect spot to dance into the morning hours. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Cuba Libre is nestled in the Hard Rock in a corner across the way from the Pink Taco. This is a favorite evening stop for the cigar aficionado as well as the dabbler. Try a Romeo y Julieta with an aged scotch or quality port. The bar also features specialty martinis, mojitos, fine cognac, and imported beers. Imported cigarettes and a large variety of cigars are on display. The Cuban Café atmosphere boasts murals of Che Guevara and dim lighting for late night enjoyment. Hookahs are available in a variety of fruity and spicy flavors. Food may be brought in from the Pink Taco if you wish to snack while you relax with a fine cocktail and then finish off with a fine cigar or hookah. - Marilee Ryan Review © 2009, Wcities |

This place is in every sports fan's fantasies and it really exists. The two-level, 33,000-sq. ft. bar/restaurant has three areas: the Screening Room, the Sports Arena and the Studio Grill. The Screening Room allows viewers to sit back in leather recliners and watch sports surrounded by 14 big screened TVs. The Sports Arena is on the second level and is filled with activities including a football toss, a climbing wall, virtual reality boxing, a duckpin bowling alley, and, of course, video games. The Studio Grill offers food like chicken wings and cheese fries, but also has pastas, ribs, seafood, and steaks. Don't forget to grab a drink while you're at it; even if you want to go play some more games, just put your beer or martini in one of the drink holders built into them. Really! Straight from Hollywood to the Rio, Lucky Strike Lanes brings a new mood to bowling: it's still fun and laid-back, but now it's cool, compliments of signature cocktails, optional bottle service and a menu perfect for the kid in you (don't miss the fried mac-and-cheese bites). It only has a few lanes but that just helps to create an intimate lounge feel, augmented by a slick bar and sexy staff. Monday night is when the place goes crazy, as local comic entertainer Jeff Beacher takes over Lucky Strike with his BUBA league, complete with DJs and go-go dancers. -Brock Radke Review © 2009, Wcities |

Nine Fine Irishmen is about as close as you'll come to an authentic New York recreation of a real Irish pub - in Vegas. Located on the grounds of the Strip's New York-New York, the two-story pub keeps throngs of gamblers and party people coming back for pints of Guinness, plates of Irish Stew and Shepherd's Pie (as well as decidedly American fare like turkey burgers and shrimp pizza), live music and more. See website for full menu, entertainment schedule, webcam, online reservations, and a rundown of exactly who those nine fine Irishmen actually were. Review © 2009, Wcities |

Located on the 52nd floor of the Fantasy Tower in the swanky Palms Hotel, the Playboy Club is a pleasure all around. You'll encounter no sour-faced dealers here. Instead, beautiful women wearing tight, skimpy outfits and the signature bunny ears will ease the pain of losing money at craps, cards or slots. When you get hungry, trip downstairs to Nove, a fine Italian restaurant. Later, if you last until the evening, swallow your losses and head up a floor to Moon, a nightclub with a retractable roof that allows its namesake to light your revelry. When it's all worn you out, go back to your room and collapse, until it's time to do it all again. Review © 2009, Wcities |

For an intimate evening, you can reserve the water booths that accommodate about 15 guests. The in-house DJs mostly play hip hop and techno beats.
