The grand opening weekend of Asia at Planet Hollywood introduced the newest nightclub in Vegas. Progressive Euro-Asian cuisine- which combines traditional Asian flavors with European/American refinement- is served in an intimate dance club atmosphere. Asia presents special events, celebrity DJs, specialty drinks, and bottle service. Call ahead for reservations and details on special cover charges. http://www.cafemartorano.com/ Steve Martorano is a big guy with muscles and tattoos. And he can cook up some mean Italian food. His vision: "Part restaurant. Part nightclub. All Italian." The music is loud, ranging from Frank Sinatra in the early evening to Hip Hop and R&B late at night. It's not unusual for people to dance in the aisles, or even on top of their tables. There is no menu. Instead, a waiter rattles off that day's list of about dozen entrées, but the servings are large and meant for sharing. This is a hugely popular attraction at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino, with the prices to go with it, so reservations are highly recommended.

The dishes are tasty and the portions are extremely generous. It will be difficult to save room for the excellent selection of cheesecakes. Try the Peppered Ahi Tuna Steak in Wine Sauce and the nice selection of cognac and port, as well as specialty cocktails and coffees. This fine eatery is located at the Venetian Hotel.

Three varieties of caviar are served, in traditional style with toast points or blinis, and available in one-ounce increments. For a modest price, enjoy a true Russian entree, Kulebyaka, salmon filet with mushrooms, chopped egg, dill and Salmon Mousseline wrapped in a puff pastry. For dessert, the Strawberries Romanoff would win over even Joseph Stalin's heart. A wide selection of vodkas and other bar drinks is available.
