The 24/7 Cafe, located in the Palms Resort & Casino, is available whenever you need a moment's break in Las Vegas. The menu is extensive and serves everything you'd expect from a Vegas restaurant, prime rib, slow cooked spare ribs, burgers, sandwiches, etc., plus there's a whole Chinese menu. Someone out there will undoubtedly stumble by after a long night and decide that Sweet and Sour Pork is exactly what their radioactively drunk body needs. I don't recommend it, but it's nice to know you can try. The 24/7 Cafe offers good food for any meal of the day, is popular among guests and visitors, and the plasma TV's are a nice added touch. This fine Chinese restaurant has a great deal of authentic Asian ambiance, and more than 15 years of popularity. The war wonton soup, full of chicken, pork and vegetables, is an excellent way to start the meal. If salads are more to your liking, try the Khan's Mongolian Lamb, spicy lamb marinated in a sherry wine sauce and served on Chinese mustard greens. 4255 Spring Mountain Road Las Vegas, NV 89109 United States +1 702 221 8448 http://lvchinatown.com/ |
Las Vegas has the only master planned Chinatown built on a strip mall. Chinatown Plaza is one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Las Vegas and one of the only places that touts a particular ethnicity. The Plaza boasts many Asian arts and crafts shops, gift stores, a bakery, a Chinese herb shop, a jade store and a plant store where you can get a lucky money tree. Signs placed throughout the area contain factual information about Chinese art and history, so it's a good place to learn a few things in passing. The food is the best reason to visit this attraction, though. You may sample Filipino, Korean, Japanese or Vietnamese specialties in addition to the traditional Chinese fare. Come on down and try a cold Taiwanese boba tea, some pho noodle soup or some fresh sushi! - Marilee Ryan Review © 2007, Wcities |

Empress Court is located in Caesars Palace Hotel Casino. A tropical fish tank built into the wall is the highlight of the light, sophisticated atmosphere at this upscale restaurant. Even in a city with the dining diversity of Las Vegas, not everyone knows what to make of Malaysian food, which tends to be a mixture of Chinese, Thai, and Filipino cuisines. However, it didn't take long for locals to warm up to Satay, a popular lunch and late-night spot positioned strategically at the gates to Chinatown Las Vegas. You can't visit without trying the namesake appetizer, chicken or beef satay marinated, skewered, and served with delicious peanut sauce. Other affordable offerings include seven types of rice dishes such as masi lemak, which involves coconut, anchovy, and boiled egg; or chicken, fish, or pork dishes. Many dishes have plenty of spicy kick. -Brock Radke Review © 2007, Wcities |

Upscale Asian dining |

This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. The upscale Asian restaurant in Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino is a treat for the senses. This is not a casual eatery, but the meal here is a whole dining experience. Try the Pineapple Fried Rice, served in a half-pineapple. The flavors and aromas are wonderful. Lemon Chicken is also perfectly seasoned with lemon, but not sweet and syrupy as prepared in many traditional Chinese restaurants. For dessert, the Green Tea Sorbets are delicious. No shorts or jeans; jackets not required, but business dress is recommended. Review © 2007, Wcities |
