Andiamo means "let's go" in Italian, and indeed, this intimate restaurant at the Las Vegas Hilton is not to be missed! Open since 1987, it is, in the words of Chef Ray Sansota, a "hidden treasure." The food is California-style Italian; fresh ingredients and sauces are high in taste and low in fat. Try the Angel Hair Pasta with Chopped Fresh Tomato Sauce or the Sage-Breaded Veal Chop. The restaurant offers different prix-fixe meals weekly, which include appetizer, soup, salad, choice of entree and dessert. A full bar is available.

Tableside theatrics

+1 702 732 5334
http://www.benihana.com/
This spot has stood the test of time. One of the original "themed" restaurants, it has been here for more than 30 years (since the hotel was known as the International). One of its claims to fame, of course, is the exhibition-style Teppanyaki preparation and cooking your selection of beef, chicken or fish at your tableside. Reservations are recommended, but if you have to wait, the Kabuki Lounge offers great atmosphere and exotic drinks. This is not just another Japanese restaurant, but a true fantasyland adventure, complete with realistic thunderstorms, waterfalls and magnificent aquariums.

Pancakes are made completely from scratch and come in a variety of ways, topped with fruits and syrups galore. Other interesting choices include Mexican breakfasts and crepes. Indeed, the menu is eclectic, but most of the dishes are the typical American family style affair. Chicken Fried Steak makes a tasty dinner, as does the Old-Fashioned Meatloaf. If it's earlier in the day, you might settle down with one of the many sandwich options, or a hearty Onion Ring Burger. Of course, any time of day is good for Coconut Cream Pie, so make sure to finish the meal off right. There are a number of other locations in the area. Check the website for a complete listing and a full menu.

An entire menu is dedicated to lunch specials, and all are a great bargain. Real brick-oven pizzas are cheesy and delicious, and the eight pasta selections are filling and quick. For dinner, the pizza is always a good choice, as is the Tiger Shrimp Salad. The Fettuccini Teatro, a fettuccine with a red Alfredo sauce, mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes, is tasty and is served with Caesar salad and garlic bread. For dessert, sample the Turtle Cheesecake. Beer and wine are available.

California Chef Tacho Kneeland brings fresh and modern cooking to this fun eatery located in the Hard Rock Hotel. If you actually came to eat and not just to enjoy the 36 tequilas, 10 Mexican beers or five enormous margaritas, you will be pleasantly surprised. Try the Rajas and Potato Tacos or the Carne Asada Tacos. Another original dish is the Vegetable Chilaquilles, layers of corn tortillas with roasted vegetables, chipotle sauce, cream, and Mexican cheeses.

Formerly known as just Capozzoli's, this longstanding Italian restaurant changed ownership but kept the original menu. Adorned with pictures of Frank Sinatra, James Dean and the like, Capozzoli's teams a classic Italian atmosphere with all the usual culinary favorites. The Meatball and Pepper sandwich is a great choice for lunch and the dinner menu is so good it's exhausting. It includes so many seafood, chicken, veal, pork and pizza dishes you could never try them all. The wine list is also extensive. Everything is reasonably priced and there is often live music. See website for details.

This delightful eatery has enjoyed popularity for many years. The appetizer menu offers more than 15 selections and the Chicken Pakoras is highly recommended. No eating experience here would be complete without sampling the Tandoori breads. The Keema Naan, unleavened bread with spiced lamb is lovely, and so is the Alu Paratha, a whole wheat bread with potatoes and spices. For an entree, the Lamb Rogan Josh features lamb, onion, cilantro and garlic, cooked in sour spices.

Neatly arranged black chairs and wooden tables fill up the three dining sections, which overlook the swimming pool of the hotel. The interesting menu includes wood roasted pizzas and mouth watering entrees like Tandoori Salmon, Kerry's Chicken Curry and Double Cut Colorado Lamb Chops. Pasta lovers can dig into Penne, sautéed with rock shrimp or Angel Hair, soaked in tomato basil sauce. The Bar Menu features appetizers and pies. You may also spot Simon supervising his team and making sure that guests leave satisfied. This popular venue is also good for hosting private parties.

The atmosphere is as zesty as the menu. This place is highly popular with the young crowd, with music on the weekends. The restaurant is very open with a southwestern decorating theme. From a sizzling steak topped with gorgonzola butter to a blackened tuna dish that is so zesty it is named VooDoo Tuna, to the Jamaican Jerk Chicken, the flavor is unbeatable. The chefs pull from a variety of food styles to create a distinct menu that will definitely satisfy.
