No Trouble in Little China |
4255 Spring Mountain Road Las Vegas, NV 89109 United States +1 702 221 8448 http://lvchinatown.com/ |
Las Vegas has the only master planned Chinatown built on a strip mall. Chinatown Plaza is one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Las Vegas and one of the only places that touts a particular ethnicity. The Plaza boasts many Asian arts and crafts shops, gift stores, a bakery, a Chinese herb shop, a jade store and a plant store where you can get a lucky money tree. Signs placed throughout the area contain factual information about Chinese art and history, so it's a good place to learn a few things in passing. The food is the best reason to visit this attraction, though. You may sample Filipino, Korean, Japanese or Vietnamese specialties in addition to the traditional Chinese fare. Come on down and try a cold Taiwanese boba tea, some pho noodle soup or some fresh sushi! - Marilee Ryan Review © 2009, Wcities |

From Dolce & Gabbana to Calvin Klein, the Premium Outlet mall downtown is always bustling with shoppers and browsers. A spacious food court offers all the usual fare. There is a Starbucks to keep you alert while you search for bargains. If you are a little funkier, Main Street still houses the famous vintage boutique, The Attic. Bistro Divino is located inside the Holsum Design Center on Charleston Boulevard and the informal El Sombrero CafĂ© is located on Main. You will want to check out the historically preserved World Market Center and other growing design and corporate ventures. From art galleries to the live music at the Clark County Government Center, including a famous outside jazz series, this area has grown to be of interest to many tastes, both local and visitors. -Marilee Ryan Review © 2009, Wcities |

When you are in Las Vegas, for any reason, for business or pleasure, or even if you live there, here's a change of pace from the lunatic asylums of the casinos. Located in the downtown Arts District, this 12,000 sq.ft. two-story building is a collector's adventure. A virtual Aladdin's Cave of antiques, the name explains it all. Here you will find an array of items, including art pieces, vintage dolls, jewelry and clothing, as well as science fiction collectibles. Take a detour from the overwhelming amounts of nicknacks and enjoy the Tea Room/Art Gallery, filled with local artist's work, as well as classic pieces. Look out for regular events such as Flea Market Fridays held during the first Friday of every month. If you're feeling lucky, have your tarot cards read by a modern Oracle. Review © 2009, Wcities |
