The 3 Singhs Restaurant & Bar is Bradford's answer to Indian cuisine. This is one place that gourmands just can't miss. Pick and choose your dishes from a wide array of choices in the menu. The ambiance is pleasant, relaxed and warm. Owners Gibby, Jaj and Ranjit make sure you've had a good time and make a genuine effort at customer satisfaction. Typical after-office bar-cum-restaurant |

A good all-rounder, '88' is also a very popular spot for business lunches and post-work get-togethers. The menu - with options like Cajun chicken and bangers and mash - may not be the most imaginative around but it's reasonably priced and of consistently good quality. Its popular range of specialty hot baguettes start from around £3. A happy hour takes place from 5p till 8p, when all pints are two for the price of one. Review © 2007, Wcities |

32-34 The Calls Leeds LS2 7EW United Kingdom +44 113 203 1811 |
Despite recent redecoration, Aire still retains its traditional pub feel even though it attracts more of a bar-type clientele comprising office workers and trendy social drinkers. It is blessed with the most beautiful balcony in Leeds, built over the murky River Aire, which makes up for the rest of the bar which is rather uninspiring. Tasty snacks are served from midday till 5p F to Su, or till 2:30p on other days. Choose from the mouth-watering selection of hot baguettes (tuna, beef and chicken), or more hearty options like sausage and mash, and spicy chicken salad. Review © 2007, Wcities |

With its dark wood interior and brown leather sofas lining the windows, All Bar One attracts a mature crowd consisting mostly of business people. Subtle lighting and an ample seating area provide the perfect location for long lunches and informal chats, although the lack of music makes it a noisy place to be if the bar is busy. The menu is excellent, and offers an extensive choice of tasty, moderately priced food. This is a smart bar for smart people. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Cozy, groovy, kitch, retro-cool and a den of 60's and 70's hip decor. With an atmosphere that's out there, Baby Jupiter shines brightly. This cosmic hideaway is decked out in purple velvet, orange fish bowl lights and film posters painted on the walls. A soundtrack of funk, jazz, soul, indie and psyche orbits the place. You'll hear tunes from The Farm's cover of 'Stepping Stone', Chapterhouse's 'Pearl', Nine Inch Nails' 'Wish' or The Pixies' 'Dig For Fire'. Have a super nova time. Review © 2007, Wcities |

There is a large selection of drinks for every taste, from unusual spirits to traditional bottled beers. There is also a comprehensive wine list and a large selection of teas and coffees. Perfect for those in a hurry |
31 Boar Lane Leeds LS1 5DA United Kingdom +44 113 244 5220 http://www.barcenssa.co.uk |
Snappy service, tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere make Bar Censsa a great place for a pit stop. The bright interior is a real mishmash of fabrics and furniture, giving the bar an appealing, offbeat look. The food is good too, with an impressive range of vegetarian dishes such as hot pepper, onion and mozzarella ciabatta sandwiches. It's a bit quiet during the day but at the weekend, the bar is invaded by the bar-crawl crowd that make their way down the Boar Lane drag. Look out for the novel e-mail order form (on the bar's website) where you can place your order so it's ready when you arrive - perfect if you are in a hurry to get to the train station which is just a couple of minutes away. Welcoming atmosphere, cool decor and great music...Le Beatrute has got it all. During the day, it's a good place to come for a cheap lunch, which is hard to find in this part of town. In the evening, especially at the weekend, it is one of the few bars where you can get a seat and the music isn't too loud to have a conversation. Le Beatrute is getting a reputation as an undiscovered secret so perhaps it won't stay like this for long. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Drink and dance the night away |
109-121 Merrion Place Leeds LS1 6PJ United Kingdom +44 113 244 1991 |
Brannigans' motto is eating, drinking and cavorting. If this doesn't give you an idea of what this place is all about, imagine a big pub with a dance floor full of drunk and excited people (they get a lot of hen nights here). Brannigans is also popular with late-night middle-aged revelers and daytime shoppers. The lunch menu features a great two meals for £6 offer (choices include burgers and simple pastas). In the evening, the larger menu comes into play: chicken and cashew pasta and lamb with cranberry butter are but two examples. Brannigans has a smart dress code no trainers or blue denim. Even when it's cold, this bar's courtyard is still a novelty - the big heaters actually do a good job of heating up the freezing air to a decent temperature so that you can sit at the outdoor tables. In the summer, it's a good place for hanging out in the shade. Food is served and the sandwiches are particularly popular - try the roast beef or tuna melt. DJs play house and funk at the weekends. This Mexican restaurant is ensconced just off the fashionable Calls, behind the Corn Exchange. With its rich colour scheme, you know it must be Cuban. The bar is always very popular thanks to its cosy, intimate atmosphere. Whether the menu is particularly Cuban or just Mexican is open to question, but either way, the food is good. Cajun Blackened Swordfish is a tastebud treat - very highly recommended. Vegetarians and wine drinkers are well catered for. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Once a hotel, The Fav, as it is affectionately known, has no trouble in attracting students thanks to its location just a stone's throw from the university. Large and spacious, it has the feel of an old rambling mansion with its themed rooms and big conservatory. After having successfully completed a long process of renovation, Dysons Building is finally back as the Leeds Marriott Hotel; not to mention its Georgetown restaurant, which is undoubtedly one of its best projects. What's your taste? The restaurant serves Malaysian, Chinese and Indian food in the most royal and 'Colonial ballroom' setting. Try the Mandarin Tim Sum for starters and the classic Nasi Goreng for the main course. Sip on Georgetown's popular house cocktail, The Singapore Sling and listen to Mozart and Chopin being played in the background. Hotel guests predominate in this quiet, modern-looking establishment, although it is open to non-guests too. The light meal menu, served all day is expensive but it's worth splashing out if you want to be sure of a quality dining experience. The recommended 'Original Hilton Hamburger' is juicy, full of flavor and comes with any extras you choose. The evening menu is pricier than the à la carte and snack menu and more modern in flavor. Goat's cheese and cherry tomato kebabs are a typical starter, with grilled Cajun pork chop or duck breast for the main course. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Sports bars, a 1990s invention, normally follow a pattern of having a large, clean drinking area, good drinks specials, and a snacky, inexpensive menu. The Sin Bin sticks to this rule and attracts a young, predominantly male clientèle. Alcoholic shots include B52 or slippery nipple and a there's a range of delicious sounding cocktails. Bottles of beer come in at a large discount from 5pm to 8pm. The menu is fairly large for a non-specialised place; and there's an 'early bird' meal from 5:30p to 7:30p. Situated at the lower end of Leeds near the railway station, the Wharf enjoys a steady stream of custom from hotel guests and locals who like a quiet pint in an intimate setting. Even though the atmosphere can be a little staid at times, the bar exudes quality. The snacky menu is available throughout the day and is reasonably priced, especially for a hotel.
