Good value sports bar |
The Headrow Leeds LS1 6JD United Kingdom +44 113 234 2282 |
Sports bars, a 1990s invention, normally follow a pattern of having a large, clean drinking area, good drinks specials, and a snacky, inexpensive menu. The Sin Bin sticks to this rule and attracts a young, predominantly male clientèle. Alcoholic shots include B52 or slippery nipple and a there's a range of delicious sounding cocktails. Bottles of beer come in at a large discount from 5pm to 8pm. The menu is fairly large for a non-specialised place; and there's an 'early bird' meal from 5:30p to 7:30p. Potato wedges, chilli con carne, and chargrilled chicken are all on the menu. Giant TV screens show sporting events daily and the atmosphere is particularly lively during the big satellite-only sports events. Review © 2007, Wcities |

Good atmosphere, great beer |
20-24 Woodhouse Lane Leeds LS2 8LX United Kingdom +44 113 244 1212 |
Quiet weekdays are contrasted with busy weekends, when a rare mix of young lads on the town, drunk students and a few thirty-somethings descend on the large bar and its small outside seating area. The South African-themed Springbok is great for big sporting events too, when its big screens whip up a feverish atmosphere in the bar. A range of snacks are served from noon till 7p nachos, bowls of fries and jacket potatoes are all on the menu. Happy hour is from 5p till 9p Sunday to Thursday. Review © 2007, Wcities |
