Once known as Southampton Square, Bloomsbury, an area in central London, is one of the earliest public squares of the city. Over the years the place has seen a number of restorations. The numerous alleyways and Georgian terraces form its core attractions. Bloomsbury is mostly a residential area and it houses prestigious institutions like the University of London, the British Museum and the University College Hospital.
