This 150 year old family-owned butchers is now run by David Lidgate, who does a superb job, and is always on hand to discuss the superior meat with the clientele. For people not put off by the sight of meat, this is a true delight - Lidgate's products were voted by Time Out the "best for organic and free-range meat" and include produce from Prince Charless Highgrove Estate and Aberdeen Angus beef. The fresh pies, which are made in the shop daily, and cuts of meat are truly delicious. Be sure to stop here for your Sunday roast at the very least, but if you can, forget supermarket meat and make Lidgate's a regular stop. Review © 2009, Wcities |
