The small, dimly lit bar of the famous Inter Continental Hotel serves as a kind of low-key accompaniment to the more frantic, tabloid friendly atmosphere of the nearby Met Bar. It is a Mayfair oasis frequented - judging from the photos on the walls - by older, more reserved, but still lavishly decadent stars like Ivana Trump and Stevie Wonder - whom you might spot indulging themselves with one of the Chateau's classic cocktails (a snip at £8.50), ranging from a Malibu Beach to a Smirnoff Seabreeze, while enjoying the music of the resident pianist and singer.
